Having grown up on a small farm in Illinois, "Dr. Dave" has always loved working with animals. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1972 and soon after moved to the San Jose Bay Area, where he has been a vet for over 30 years! He enjoys giving back to the community, through low-cost vaccination clinics, speaking at local schools, and working with the Santa Clara County Sheriff K9 Unit. Recently, Dr. Reed was voted one of the Bay Area's Best Veterinarians in Bay Woof Magazine's Beast of the Bay Awards.
Dr. Reed enjoys spending time with his family, which include his wife, three children, a daughter-in-law, and two awesome grandsons. Not to mention his fur family: two English Bulldogs, Layla and Fenway and a feisty French Bulldog, Lincoln.
"I love Dr. Reed and his staff! Dr. Reed is an amazing and dedicated vet - he has been taking care of my animals for almost 20 years. He is an amazing doctor and has such a passion for his work; his practice is an art! ... He has that 'country doctor' charm that is endearing and real - he truly cares about animals and his clients." - Barbara K., San Jose

Our Medical Director, Dr. Johnson, is a California native born in San Jose and then raised in Santa Cruz. From a young age, she always knew she would be working with animals. As a child, she developed strong bonds with her family's dogs, rabbits and parakeets and this instilled in her a passion for animal care. As a teenager and young adult, she volunteered at animal shelters in both Santa Cruz and Hawaii. She also volunteered at Native Animal Rescue in Santa
Cruz where she treated injured wildlife including pelicans, seagulls, cormorants, songbirds, squirrels, rabbits, opossum and much more. Additionally, Dr. Johnson spent a summer in Mexico helping with sea turtle conservation and a month in the Cook Islands to provide low cost veterinary care to animals in need.
Dr. Johnson received highest honors in her undergraduate degree from UC Santa Cruz in Conservation Biology and then graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She has been working in general practice in the Bay Area ever since. Her professional interests include cases involving internal medicine, dermatology, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. She especially enjoys connecting with clients on a shared mutual interest; the human-animal bond and the maintenance of health and wellness of their pets.
Dr. Johnson continues to reside in her hometown of Santa Cruz with her family including her husband, two children, two cats Mittsy and Joey and their entertaining rescue dog, Cali. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, hiking, running, swimming, domestic and international travel, nature photography, and spending time with friends and family
"I love this office! The staff is so helpful and understanding. Dr. Johnson is the best vet I've dealt with in a long time! I love her personality. Very gentle and compassionate." -
Debbie R., San Jose

My name is Rosi, and I was born and raised in the Bay Area. I graduated in 1999 from Henry M. Gunn High School in Palo Alto.
Who knew that taking my cat in to see a local vet for care in September of 2000 would change my life? With no experience, I was taken in by Dr. Reed to become a veterinary receptionist. Twenty-three years later, I am still a part of the team, managing a high-volume practice alongside both Dr. Reed and Dr. Johnson.
Both doctors have helped me learn so much and grow along the way.
I love the outdoors, traveling, eating great food, and spending time with family, friends, and my sweet God dog, Kali.
I live in Campbell with my two fur babies (Figaro & Sugar Booger) and my future husband. We are expecting our first daughter this fall!
"It's clear that everyone at Reed, especially Rosi, Lindsey, and Dr. Johnson, cares about the animals and their families." Christine N.
Veterinary Technician, Licensed RVT, Campbell
Lindsey has been a part of our team for over five years and is our lead registered veterinary technician (RVT). In addition to being a motivated and experienced technician, she has a special interest in veterinary dentistry and is highly trained in this area.
Lindsey has loved animals her entire life and has worked with a variety of species since her teenage years. This passion led her to veterinary medicine in her early 20’s. She also has a love for rescue work and has rescued numerous dogs. These dogs have either become her own pets or she has found them homes to ensure that they live happy and healthy lives.
Lindsey is married. She and her wife recently moved into their first home in Felton, where they enjoy hiking in the redwoods, fixing up the house, and spending time in their yard with their five rescue dogs.
"In summary, I found the staff, especially Lindsey, to be extraordinary when it came to instilling confidence in me towards risky procedures, as well as always being available for my questions." Rebecca W.

. Pia is a Bay Area native who graduated from San Jose State in 2020 with degrees in marketing and public relations.
Pia always knew she wanted to work in the veterinary field. She grew up without pets, but as soon as she could walk, she would beg her parents to take her to the local dog park, where she would watch dogs of all sizes play.
In high school, Pia spent all 4 years volunteering at animal shelters in her spare time. She knew she wanted to be a pet mom when she grew up and she adopted her first pet, a witty cat named Artemis, when she was in college.
Pia currently resides in Santa Clara. She has two dogs named Scampi and Clunk, and two cats named Artemis and Athena. When she’s not working, you can usually find Pia hanging out with her friends, playing video games, or taking her dogs to the park.
