Reed Animal Hospital Newsletter: September
As the summer winds down, we wanted to take a moment to connect and catch up on the most important part of our hospital – you, our clients!
- We started the summer off on a serious note when Dr. Reed experienced some unexpected health issues. He reduced his workload this summer, and we were all very appreciative of your patience during his recovery. Dr. Johnson stepped in during his absence and provided invaluable support and care for our furry friends. Fortunately, Dr. Reed has been given a clean bill of health and will continue to help your pets get the valued attention he has always provided.
- Reed Animal Hospital Campbell would like to welcome Dr. Lynn Vieyra and Dr. Mike Armer to the family. Dr. Vieyra, a graduate of UC Davis Veterinary School, joined us while Dr. Reed was out and was a tremendous asset during that time. She is a native of Hawaii and has practiced in the Bay Area for many years – she has worked side by side with Dr. Reed for about half of those years! Dr. Armer is a UC Davis Vet graduate as well, where he focused on Small Animal and Avian/Exotics medicine. Dr. Armer has a strong background in preventative medicine, ophthalmology, and surgery.
- We celebrated “National Check the Chip Day” in August by offering free microchip scans and low cost microchipping for those dogs and cats that did not have them. The event was well attended and provided valuable resources for the microchipping process and how effective the service is in reuniting a pet with its family. We look forward to making this a yearly event, and as always, encourage all pet owners to get microchips for their furry friends.
- We will be out at “Bark in the Park” Saturday, September 19th from 10-5 at William Street Park in San Jose. In conjunction with Dr. Dave’s Doggy Daycare, we will have giveaways for dogs and humans alike. It is the largest dog festival in the U.S. with almost 4,000 dogs expected. There will be dog contests, training and agility demonstrations, and booths from over 75 local vendors as well as food and drinks. You can visit www.barksanjose.org for more information, we hope to see you there!
We have exciting news on the horizon. Stayed tuned for the announcement coming shortly!
